Yes, this is my life! Teaching technology REQUIRES a high level of "new modeling" to keep up in the field. So I would rather fail miserably trying something new to learn it, rather than to shy away from new things and new be exposed.
I think it is best to try new things. You will never know if you succeed if you don't at least try. Failing is also a learning process. If you fail, you can make changes and do it differently next time.
While failing miserably can be fun, I wouldn't jump right in unless I have a reason to go against the status quo, in which case I am more than willing to risk failure.
I like to try new things but sometimes its easier to do the same thing, it depends on the situation. I like when someone tries new and different things if they fail, you may learn from it.
I think he means that the only way to learn something is to do it over and over again. I agree with him. So one fails. It just makes the person try again.
One improves themselves and life by working on new things. If one is always satisfied with what they are use to, how to we build our self esteem/ perception of ourselves and improve our life, if we don't try. We will learn more by our mistakes than our successes.

I agree. I would rather try something new and learn from the experience whether it be successful or a failure then to stay in the same old rut.

The new models may be better looking than the old models
I totally agree, a old dog can learn new tricks.
I agree with that comment.

I struggle to be a risk taker, so I have to force myself to think and go outside "the box".
To a certain extent. It depends what the situation is and what it's about.

I like to try new things, but not just for the sake of trying new things.
I think I heard that on "Waiting for Superman"
